More than 2.25 crore pilgrims devote holy dip when the Kumbh Mela opens in Prayagraj
About 15 crores pilgrims are expected to participate in pilgrims.

PRAYAGRAJ: One of the world’s largest religious festivals, more than 2.25 crore pilgrims and holy people dived at the confluence – three sacred rivers, the Ganga and the Yamuna rivers and the confluence of the legendary Saraswati – open as Kumbh Mela on Tuesday.

Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said about 2.25 crore pilgrims participated in ‘Shahi Bath’ before the Kumbh Mela in Prayag are on Makar Sankranti.

The Kumbh Mela administration first said that about two crore people had a sacred bath on Tuesday.

Since midnight, lakhs of devotees gathered from Kumbh to the country and abroad and gathered towards bathing ghats.

In the 13 ‘Akhand’, which participated in ‘Shahi Bath’ on Tuesday, Maha Nabani, Atal, Niranjani, Anand, Juna, Avhan, Panchgani, Nirvani Ani, Digambar Ani, Nirmohi Ani, and Naya Unseen, Barda Udden and Nirmala were included.

Each of them was allotted about 45 minutes by the Aquarius authorities. A large crowd gathered in this lavish bath, while a large number of devotees kept on rising for Prayagraj.

`Shahi bath ‘is considered as one of the most important components of Aquarius.
Comprehensive arrangements were made for the security and the Pontoon bridge was built for those who arrived at the 5-km bathing ghat on the Sangam.

Marking the official start of the fair, Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a video on Twitter immediately after the ‘Shahi Shab’ started.

Kumbh Mela is held every year in every half year, whereas the Kumbh Mela runs for 12 years.

According to the officials, about 15 million pilgrims are expected to participate in pilgrimage, which, according to the legends, open the doors of heaven.

More than 40,000 LED lights have been used to illuminate the bathing ghats for the administration to illuminate the historic ghats.

Kumbh Mela will reach its culmination on March 4, which also shows Mahashivaratri, the last of six dates for ‘Shahi bath’.
